Twin Creeks Great Room
This very grand living room has plenty of seating areas and tall ceilings which gives it an impressive feeling.
The huge dark logs draw our attention straight to the focal point of this living space; the stone fireplace in the center.
The lighting around the fireplace also focuses our attention further onto the stonework.
In a room of this size, lots of light must be let into the room to fill the large room with light. Murray Arnott (the designer) certainly managed to achieve this by placing large windows along the left-hand side of the room.
Whitewashed Cabin Living Room
This living room is very different from any other interior we have featured on this roundup.
It doesn’t have the typical rustic log cabin feel, and this is most certainly due to the whitewashed logs.
This, combined with the pastel furniture, creates a very spacious, light, and airy feel to the room.
The pentagon-shaped window makes the most of every single bit of the view possible, and the drapes give it a feel of elegance.
Impressive Great Room
My eyes are torn between three things when I first look at this impressive living room.
- The first is the candle chandelier lighting which hangs from the center of the room.
- The second is the amazing logs in the ceilings, each one unique in its shape and maintaining the exact shape it had in its original form as a tree.
- The third is the huge window wall at the bottom looking out over that idyllic view.

Even the lights have an outdoorsy feel to them; each of the shades is similar to the old-fashioned rustic street lamps.
Summer Log Cabin Living Room
Although much smaller than anything else we have featured in this roundup, this log home is beautifully designed.
Perhaps more of a reading nook than a living room, this log cabin interior, makes the most of a jutted-out window to create a comfortable bench with lots of cushions.
As I mentioned before, if you’re worried about your color scheme looking too mismatched, just choose one color palate as this designer did. They stuck with greens and browns and have created an idyllic-looking space.

The window wall that this log cabin features is one of my favorites. It uses two large logs and keeps them in the natural shape which adds to the character and charm of the living room.
The height and width of the window give an almost undisturbed view of the lake outside.
The living space is kept simple, with three comfortable armchairs and a mix of the tiled and carpeted floors.
There really is no need to over furnish a room like this when the architectural design does all of the speaking!

Doesn’t this room do exactly that!
From the log burning fire, with the natural stone surround, to the choice mismatched sofas, every piece of furnishing is beautiful in its own right, and combining them all works wonders.
The windows across the whole of the wall allow a lot of light to come in and this is also complemented by the beautiful candle chandelier in the middle which our eyes ultimately keep getting drawn back to!
Dining Area Log Cabin Interior
This grand and spacious dining space is formal yet inviting.
The large open window gives guests an undisturbed view over the beautiful landscape and is complemented by the low hung, candle chandelier, as well as wall lighting.
Although this log home doesn’t have a typical log wall feel to it, the exposed beams subtly remind you of this.
This dining space is spacious, yet not big enough to feel intimidating. The area is also furnished in a minimalist way, which only adds to the grand allure of the open-plan room.
Den/Games Room
You know what they say about all work and no play…
This cozy den provides a grand, yet comfortable place to relax. Every single detail has been thoroughly thought through from the way the logs enclose the TV, to the various seating arrangements which give each space a purpose.
What a fantastic space in which to entertain guests it manages to maintain an air of luxuriousness, while at the same time facilitating a fun, relaxing space to enjoy the company of friends and family.
This space provides the perfect entertainment area to suit many different ages, from teenagers, to adults and many sized groups, from small intimate family gatherings to larger parties.
Entrance Hall
Although this entrance is not grand, it has a traditional rustic feel to it.
The various subtle lighting elements give a lovely cozy and inviting atmosphere.
This Log Home was voted as one of the top homes of the decade in Traverse Magazine’s Northern Home & Cottage 2010.
The designers handcrafted the local home using local timber and reclaimed wood flooring.
They wanted the home to have ‘a rich, sophisticated feel while retaining the look of an authentic vintage log cabin.’
